Born In Jacksonville, Florida in 1973, Susan A. Laney moved to Savannah, Georgia to pursue a bachelor’s degree in photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She began her career as curator of the permanent collection for the Savannah College of Art and Design and later was the director of the Jack Leigh Gallery for over ten years. While pursuing a career in the arts, her work has been featured in over 25 solo, group and juried exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad. Her work includes manipulation of images with such exquisite photo techniques as ‘mordancage’, developed by famous French photographer Jean Pierre Sudre, and platinum printing. She has received several honors and her work is featured in numerous private and corporate collections. She recently was an instructor at the Photographic Workshops in Savannah and currently resides in Savannah.

Her ongoing body of work is concentrated in abstract landscape painting. Using no specific landscape as her source, she finds inspiration in responding to her environment as a whole.
